Anaheim, CA was the scene for the annual Craft and Hobby Association Winter show held in late January. I demonstrated Marvy's new punch lines including their Embossing and Silhouette Craft Punches and their Extra Giga Craft Punches. (This is me with the Marvy Gang- L-R- Arthur, Me, Shannon, Rick (back row), Debby and Steve). I did two make it take its that featured their new products. Both were cards that had interactive elements including a Butterfly Wiper card and a Spinner card.
I used Cornish Heritage Farm's Rubber stamps to complete the designs including their Bloom with Abandon sentiment, their Natures Silhouettes line and the Sympathy Expressions set for the bird and sentiment on the Valentines Spinner Card. I made both of these cards about 150 times each during the four partial days I demo'ed. If you want directions emailed to you, just drop me a note!
I did not attend the show last Winter but the mood of the show was very upbeat compared to the Summer show held in Orlando. I did not attend either Consumer portion of the show so I am referring to the Business part of both shows. It is my understanding that the mood was more optimistic than last year's Winter show as well.
I got to spend time with several of my editors including Abby Foster of Crafts n Things and Annie Niemeic of Pack O Fun magazines. I saw many fellow designers including Niki Meiners and Carla Schauer, who also stayed at my hotel and whom I dined with many times (heres to the concierge suite!)
Looking forward to the Summer show moving back to Chicago and the Winter show in LA next year.
Want one of Marvy Uchida's Paper Trimming BuddysI used at CHA? It is a super cool, super safe paper trimming system that has removable cartridges such as the straight blade, scoring blade and decorative edge blades that cut borders such as scallops. Leave a comment and I will choose a random number that I will announce next Tuesday, Feb 23th. Check back here to see if you won!
