Thanks to my friend, Michelle Cummings of the blog Fairie Dust Dreams, I was recently inspired to create a version of her clever party decorations. She used a circle template and traced circles in various sizes but I decided this project would be really quick and simpler using my Marvy Uchida paper punches.
Plastic string- the kind you buy in the party supply section makes nice sturdy string, and you might have red, white or a shade of blue around the house.
Strong double sided adhesive- I used Marvy's Mini Glue Tape Adhesive Runner.
Scissors- I like the Squishy Scissors by Marvy because they feel so good in your hands!
Patterned papers and cardstock solids- Use in coordinating colors of red, white and blue. Make sure the papers are double sided since both sides show.
When you get three pieces glued together, decide how long your string should be a cut off a piece of string with the squishy scissors. Place the center of the string into the last folded piece and use adhesive to attach. Continue gluing the pieces together, back to back until six pieces are attached, with the string in the center.
